I would LOVE it if parents would be willing to donate (inexpensive) prizes for the prize box used in both of my classes! That is currently the only thing I am in need of but I am working on an Amazon Wish list that I will be linking to this website soon.
Math: The students are all learning about Arrays which is a very new concept to many of them! Do not be surprised if they struggle through these first few assignments. We are laying the ground work for future years where they are learning multiplication and area. I'm hopeful that we will get to the chapter two test by Friday. Homeroom: I'm still looking for one more parent volunteer for our field trip on October 10th! Email me if you are interested! I just wanted you to know that you do not need to worry about meeting with me during Parent Teacher Conferences because you only need to visit your student's Math and Literacy teacher. This week we are finishing up learning about Maps and will move onto learning about the earth!

Spirit week is this week!
Tuesday: Hat day Wednesday: Future Job Thursday: Crazy socks/Mismatch shoes for PICTURE DAY! Friday: 80's Day Math: We started chapter two today! Students may come home with unfinished or missing work, so keep an eye out for missing grades in Aspire to know what is missing. We are working on skip counting with songs so don't be surprised when they are singing numbers to the tune of Jingle Bells! Homeroom: Today, we sent home field trip permission slips! My homeroom class's papers are bright green, so please find those in their Bee folder, sign them, and send them back this week so we can get a lunch count. This week we are learning about maps! If you would like to volunteer for the field trip, just make sure you have your background check done through the school and send me an email saying you would like to join us. We will need parents from 10:30-2:00 on October 10th. Hello! We have Fun Friday this week! If your student still needs to turn in last week's reading log, have them bring it tomorrow so they can sign up for a fun activity this Friday! We will be starting chapter 2 which means we are starting to learn about number patterns.
Homeroom: This week we are learning about symbols in the USA and maps for our social studies unit. Hello!
Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday, which means there is no fun Friday this week. Please encourage your student to still turn in their reading logs and get their i-ready and imagine learning minutes done during school hours. Math: We are finishing up the first chapter about addition and subtraction. They will be taking their unit test either on Thursday or next Monday depending on when we wrap things up. Homeroom: We have been talking about growth mentality and the learning pit. The students are learning about ways they can change their thinking so they do not give up even when they come to hard obstacles. This week we are starting Fun Friday Please click on the button below to sign up for a time to come into class and volunteer your time to teach a craft or teach the students a fun game. Your student can come to Fun Friday if they: 1. Bring back last week's reading log 2. Finish Imagine Learning minutes 3. Finish i-ready minutes Math: I sent home addition and subtraction flashcards to be cut out and put in a zip-lock so your child can study at home. These flashcards do not need to be brought back to school but I would love it if you would help them make sure they write the correct answer to the flashcards on the back so they can start practicing! Homeroom: This week we are talking about classroom culture and the growth mindset! Thank you for coming to back to school night last week! If you couldn't make it, you can just read the class disclosure and send it in by this Friday the 30th. It is early out and Dollar dress down day this Friday! Pick up students at 12:45 and enjoy the long weekend!
Math: We are starting chapter one which includes adding and subtracting. Students will come home with homework pages that DO NOT need to come back to school. There is no homework for math!
